Disclaimer: This is speculation, I haven’t tried the new wave of VR, but at one point several years ago I did own a Z80 Emagin visor.
Rant: I really hope VR games head in this direction, and don’t follow the old adventure game trope of having one solution to a crazy puzzle about bypassing a goat or getting a fake moustache. Multiple solutions with varying degrees of success would be the best, but always sticking to one goal (ie. hiding the evidence, proving he owns the tobacco pouch) will help keep the story from branching out of control. I also hope there won’t be a standardization of VR inputs, like there has kind of been with text adventures, and hope there is enough recognition of various inputs to encourage players to try anything. Maybe this is unrealistic. I hope not.
